Vagabond Soul

Vagabond Soul

A handful of travel rhymes from the depth of this vagabond heart.

For those who are restless,
this world is limitless
nations are boundary-less
possibilities are endless
and options are countless.
***

Driven by her whims
she becomes as she brims
duchess of the mountains
countess of the plains
heiress of the beaches
every time it rains
***

"No fixed plan, no map, no key
the only thing to carry with thee
is thyself with glee
and set thy spirit free"
***

"You should travel
for you will unravel
mysteries in the gravel
your stories will marvel
at how you bedazzle!"

DREAMS

DREAMS

“I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart for so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time.” - A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

About a dream, that made me smile,
when awake I am quite agile,
anything but fragile,
but I wonder once a while;
About theories of parallel existence,
the reason for this recurrence,
and peculiarity of this semblance,
all in a state of ephemeral permanence;
Visiting places in my slumber,
that I do not remember,
from sweet November,
nor January till December;
That unequivocal love,
you'll never fall short of
peaceful as a white dove,
can be only found high above;
Familiar yet strange,
surpassing every range,
like some novella's last page,
nor ecstasy nor rage;
there's definitely some connection,
evoking unbridled anticipation,
of repetitive affirmation,
or simply a figment of imagination;
Ironic as it may seem
reality will scream
that living by a dream
is a concept too pristine;
But these dreams do create,
the moment that I await,
but time would neither wait,
nor fair to blame it on fate.

Season's Greetings

Season's Greetings

The sky was mellow
As the sunset turned yellow

Those birds didn't cry
'Cause the rivers ran dry

Life seemed mundane
Without a droplet of rain

That night too long
Without a nightingale's song

The events so bizarre
The perpetual fear of a war

With every season's greeting
Remember that time is fleeting.

So Much So.

So much for granted,
So much to expect,
So much I did not promise,
So much I did not realise,
So sure it wouldn't materialise,
So much I did not foresee,
So sure it wasn't meant to be,

So I took up a chance,
That required a glance.
So now you only pray,
That I were a shade of Grey.
So its just a mind block,
That makes the birds flock.

The wilderness of my thoughts,
The lessons I have been taught.
Now I know it was a blur,
Now I know not to deter,
Now I know it wont be,
From the moment of glee,
That set me free.

Presence of An Absence

'Tis the absence of your presence,
Or the presence of your absence?
Could be the thrill of the day
Or maybe the chill of the night.

For it's always there on my mind,
An experience so divine.
Deep inside I can feel a chasm,
Yet, surprised by life's sarcasm.

Cannot be fulfilled by hope alone,
While anxious to achieve a milestone.
But you keep me waiting,
And I am still contemplating

For happiness or sorrow,
If the sun shines tomorrow.
You'll never find a sky so blue,
And that'd be enough of a clue.

Pheonix- Rising from Ashes

Can call it a distant vision,
Or could be merely a delusion,

While this head was torn in pain,
And this heart full of strain,

Something won't let you break,
That distant but placid lake,
Whose water so calm,
With the sun to keep it warm,

Yet, the night is still,
Frozen in the chill,
With a breeze waiting to kill,

Could you hold on your nerves,
For the one who deserves?

Does Dark and Deep,
Keeps you from sleep?

All perspectives so hazy,
Your wings go crazy,

Yet, an irresistible drive,
And a will to survive,
And just one lifetime to revive,

Could these be your beacon of hope?
Wonder, if that'd be enough to cope?

Yet, the heart will bleed,
Tis more than just a need,
All the stakes at this battle,
That could be a death rattle,

Or, would it be a bait?
Guess, the answer will have to wait,
Is it best to leave it at fate?
